Odyssey of Raising Kids

We fledged our one and only child.  It was quite a journey.  Especially the teenage years. I remember my own mother threatening me with her standard curse when I tried her patience, "I hope you have 15 kids just like yourself when you grow up!"  I think my one offspring made up for those 15 kids. My son was constantly pushing the boundaries. I just about threw the towel in a few times. When he thought as a teen that  we were the "stupidest" parents in the world I recruited Rivers & Birds and other nonprofit youth groups like the Sustainable Global Leadership Alliance (SGLA) and Movimiento to inspire him.   It worked. SGLA and Movimiento had a power transformational effect.  The opportunity to meet Nobel Peace Laureates through PEACEJAM with Rivers & Birds helped too.  My advice to you who are still  involved in raising kids.  Never stop believing in your child. Never give up.  The metamorphosis, the miracle will happen. If you believe in your child, she or he will blossom into a magnificent being. Find other mentors to help. There are plenty of powerful nonprofits dedicated to inspiring youth as leaders. The charming video that follows this blog is the epitome of who my son was.  Now at 22, Noah Bridgers, a former high school drop out, is a National Collegiate Scholar and  a gifted leader with the Sustainable Global Leadership Alliance taking young people for the third year in a row to India to inspire them as compassionate leaders.  The following is a video link of Noah himself recently expressing his concerns for climate change. Thanks to the nonprofit community in helping to raise our kids.
ENJOY THE ODYSSEY!
